MessageLabs Positioned in “Leaders” Quadrant in E-mail Security Boundary Magic Quadrant by Leading Industry Research Firm
NEW YORK, NY – September 18, 2008 – MessageLabs, a leading provider of integrated messaging and web security services to businesses worldwide, today announced that Gartner, Inc. has positioned the company in the “Leaders” quadrant in the just-issued Magic Quadrant for E-mail Security Boundaries, 2008
(1) report. The report evaluated twenty providers of enterprise email security solutions.
“Leaders are vendors that are performing well, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership positions in the market. Companies in this quadrant offer a comprehensive and proficient range of e-mail security functionality, and show evidence of superior vision and execution for current and anticipated customer requirements. Leaders typically have relatively high market share and/or strong revenue growth, own a good portion of their threat or content-filtering capabilities, and demonstrate positive customer feedback for anti-spam efficacy, and related service and support," according to Gartner, the leading provider of research and analysis on the global information technology industry.
“We consider our position in the 'Leaders' quadrant further confirmation of MessageLabs mission to deliver industry-leading protection for messaging threats across email, web and IM,” said Adrian Chamberlain, Chief Executive Officer of MessageLabs. “As more organizations worldwide continue to embrace 'software as a service’ security solutions to reduce management and administration requirements while delivering greater performance, we believe MessageLabs is well positioned to maintain and grow its market share."
Gartner describes the email security market as "rapidly maturing, yet continuing to show strong growth and remaining a 'must have' security purchase." Gartner suggests that "spam filtering effectiveness, the quality and flexibility of the management console, and reporting options should dominate buying criteria" for clients.
MessageLabs recently closed another strong year of growth and continued global expansion. The company announced preliminary unaudited figures for its fiscal year ending 31 July, 2008 of $145 million in revenue and EBIT of $11.2 million furthering its market leadership and demonstrating the continued adoption of Software as a Service for messaging security.
